The Vari-Zither has been developed for education and therapeutic playing but the possibilities are endless and may appeal to musicians of all levels.
It has twelve strings, all tuned to the same note but with a rolling, movable bridge under each. This means that you can roll and position them to make the strings play different notes, effectively "programming" a melody line onto it. Then just strum or pluck across the strings. A plectrum gives the best results we find. Great for schools, workshops, composing or performers who want to lay in a melody line and use it repetitively live or in the studio.
