love making custom instruments to order. One of my favourite recent
orders was for a semi acoustic, left-handed five string octave mandola.
The customer left the rest to my imagination. The
instrument shown
below has three pickup devices: One at the bridge, a stylish
mellow
sounding liptick coil pickup and an internal microphone. These are then
blended and mixed in the onboard EQ panel. Active circuitry also
allows a built in DI box so the instrument has both Jack and XLR
outputs. Brian Wylie of U.K. folk rock band "Wild Geese" and
ceilidh
band "Frigga" was very happy. Hoping for some on stage pics soon!
